Do you ever have one of those days when the stars just seem to align and everything works out perfectly? Well Sunday was one of those days for me. But before I tell you all about it, I'll explain how it came about.
A few months ago I responded to a request from Anthony & Sally https://www.facebook.com/UKCoastWalk who are currently walking the coast of the whole of the UK (!!!) raising funds for the RNLI. Their support vehicle Nancy, their motor home, was parked in Kilmelford near my house, and they were looking for someone to pick them up at the end of their day's walking and drive them back to Nancy. Their walk was finishing at the Knipoch Hotel that day and I offered to pick them up there. Arriving a bit early I popped into the hotel to introduce myself as I knew the hotel was under new ownership and thought they might like to meet a local wedding photographer. They did.
So it turned out they were just in the process of putting their website together and loved my idea of a photo shoot there.
So after a few messages and emails 'Team Knipoch' was created. And what a team!
Oskar (https://www.instagram.com/theweddingguru_oskar/) coordinated the day in his quiet and calm way making sure that everything was in the right place and looking perfect. He even fashioned a buttonhole for the groom from some spare flowers.
And last, but definitely not least, my wonderful friend Gail (https://www.facebook.com/gailbrackhumanist) performed her ceremony magic which included the couple having a hand fasting, drinking from a quaich, and jumping the broomstick.
Being a documentary style photographer it was quite different for me to be running a styled shoot and I had wondered how I'd get on with directing the team, but I shouldn't have worried about it as Oskar was there to do what he does so well.
The hotel is looking amazing and has had a huge amount of work done both inside and out, and there were delicious Sunday lunch smells coming from the kitchen before we left. I'll definitely have to go back there for food one day!
I am very happy to recommend the hotel for intimate Scottish weddings. Look how lovely that little dining room looks. Perfect for a group of 12.
I'm still buzzing from this fabulous day, and so grateful to everyone for putting their trust in me.
